European Commission opens consultation on the review of the PSI re-use Directive
19th May 2008
The European Commission has now published its public consultation on the review of the PSI re-use Directive. The Commission wants to get views on different aspects related to the implementation, impact and scope of the PSI Directive, which will then feed into the upcoming proposal for the review of the PSI Directive.
The questions relate to the following:
- 1) The implementation and impact of the Directive: How does it look in the different Member States? Which problems are PSI re-users facing with public sector bodies?
- 2) The scope of the Directive: should cultural establishments, education and research organisations and public service broadcasters currently out of the scope be covered by the Directive?
- 3) Looking ahead: what measures could be established at national/EU level to optimise the PSI re-use? Should legislative amendments be introduced in the Directive?
The consultation will be open until 31st of July.
